PITTSTON TWP. - The Northeast Pennsylvania Football Conference concluded
its inaugural season Saturday afternoon by announcing its all-star selections
at Convention Hall. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The all-stars were selected solely by NEPFC coaches about two weeks ago,
but weren't released to the media until the completion of the state playoffs.
A second team was picked in Division 4. The three other divisions picked only
honorable mention. Most Valuable Players or Coaches of the Year weren't
selected. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Here's this year's all-stars. The Times Leader will publish a more in-depth
story at a later date. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 1: Wyoming Valley West tied Division 3 South power Hanover Area
for the most selections, with 10 players each. Quarterback/defensive back P.J.
Piskorik and tight end/defensive end Brian Mattes were named to the first-team
offense and defense for the Spartans. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Other Valley West players selected to the offense were running back Mike
Piekanski, tackle Matt Kayrish and guard Mitch Littleton. Defensive all-stars
were lineman Jim Smith, linebackers Tony Decker and Russ Mikhalkov and
defensive back Eugene Zablotney. Rob Solomon made the team as a kicker. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Abington Heights had five players chosen: defensive end/punter Chris
Beresovoy; offensive tackle Mark Hadglin; defensive lineman John Fitzsimmons;
defensive back Jeff Cianni; and kicker Sean Hair. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hazleton Area receivers Ryan Gennaro and Joe Holderman were among four
Cougars selected. Gennaro also made the defensive squad as a defensive back.
Mike Pozzessere was selected as the center and Joe Buchman the fullback. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Two-way lineman Joe Cohick, running back Darrell Blackman and linebacker
Dave Fatherly were picked from Williamsport. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Delaware Valley and Scranton had no players chosen to the Division 1
all-star team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 2 North: West Scranton had eight players selected:
quarterback/defensive back Mario Bevilacqua; offensive linemen Steve Carroll
and Nick Cook; receiver Evan Prall; fullback Dennis Hricenak; and defensive
linemen Angelo Desarno, Ryan Kahanic and Brad Ralston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Crestwood was represented by running back Bob Thomas, receiver Gerald
O'Hara, offensive tackle Justin Baratta, linebacker Matt Rinehimer and punter
Tim Oliver. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 North Pocono selections were running back A.J. Sabatelle, tight end Mike
Golecki, defensive back Ryan Jones and kicker Mike Rava. Wallenpauapck had
center/linebacker Dan Faubel, running back Mark Pittenger and defensive back
Walter Pittenger named all-stars. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Rounding out the first team were Tunkhannock defensive end Mike Burnside
and defensive back Jamie Reese, and Honesdale guard/defensive lineman Mike
Motsko and linebacker Gary Steich. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 2 South: Dallas and Pittston Area had six players each chosen on
the all-star team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dallas representatives were running back Cory Gallant, offensive linemen
Mitch Onzik and Paul Wisniewski, receiver Jason Race, defensive lineman John
Simonitis and linebacker Adam Harris. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Defensive linemen Jim Norris and Joe O'Haire headed the Pittston Area
contingent that also featured tight end Chris Walsh, linebacker Joe Oliveri,
defensive back Tim Cotter and kicker Bob Nawrocki. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Quarterback Al West, receiver Ben Culver, defensive end Ryan Johnson,
linebacker E.J. Smith and defensive back Mike Reed were chosen from Berwick. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Offensive linemen Mike Sklarsky and Jerome Vincarelli and running back Dave
Rubbico were picked from Coughlin. Wyoming Area selections were center Mike
Macheska, fullback Eric Randazzo and defensive back Andy Castanaro. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Defensive end John Sharkus, defensive back Chris Navin and punter Chris
Teetsel were Lake-Lehman's representatives. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 3 North: Dunmore and Lakeland had seven representatives each. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dunmore selections were guard Keith Zielinski, running back/defensive back
Brett Trichilo, defensive end Tim Earley, defensive lineman Chris Farris,
linebacker Brian Ruddy, defensive back Bob Mancuso and kicker Mark Sottile. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lakeland all-stars were quarterback/defensive back Evan Kraky, running
back/linebacker Shaun Kazmierski, receivers Jeff Sosko and Chris Washko,
two-way tackle Pat Carrube, guard/defensive end Dominick Esgro and center Mark
Mushel. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Tight end Corey Mishura, tackle Frank Colachino and punter Ryan Runco were
picked from Mid-Valley. Running back Lou Armenazzi, defensive lineman Nathan
Poindexter and defensive back Phil Ross were selected from Valley View. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Scranton Prep linebacker Terry Gallagher and defensive back Tony Cantafio
earned all-star honors. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Western Wayne was the only school with no all-stars. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 3 South: Hanover Area had 10 players selected, which tied Valley
West for the most of any school in the 40-team league. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Hawkeyes honored were: quarterback Dan Nealon; receiver Tim Strenfel
tight end Joe Kawczenski; offensive linemen Ken Whitman and Jason Swoboda;
defensive end Jason Styczen; defensive lineman Frank Cwalina; linebacker Frank
Pilch; and defensive backs Jim Shock and Mike Hudak. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 GAR was represented by: running back Mike James; receiver Andrew Jefferson;
offensive linemen Ted Richards and David Roughsedge; defensive lineman Jarad
Grohowski; linebackers Sean Davis and Tom Hearst; and defensive backs Carlton
Quiller and John Suchoski. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Fullback Jason Mitkowski, guard Steve Donlin and punter Ryan Amos were
selected from Nanticoke. Running back Marques Cooley, linebacker Nick Wilson
and kicker Jared Carlo were picked from Meyers. Defensive end Dave VanNort was
Montrose's lone all-star. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 East Stroudsburg North had no players chosen. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Division 4: Lackawanna Trail had seven all-stars: running back/defensive
back Richard Jackson; fullback/linebacker Jim Colvin; guard Aaron Slick;
center Dale Gow; tackle/defensive end Morris Jackson; linebacker Tim
Carpenter; and kicker John Hickok. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Running back/defensive back Josh Lasavage, defensive lineman Jim Suscavage
and defensive back Jared Nepa were picked from Carbondale. Quarterback Matt
Smith, receiver Ron Pavalonis and defensive end Steve Sandly were selected
from Riverside. Tight end/defensive lineman Mike Donati, guard Gregory Mills
and linebacker Chris Donati were chosen from Old Forge. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bishop O'Reilly's representatives were receiver Jonathan Hughes and punter
Andrew Lohin. Susquehanna running back/defensive back Nick Winnie and tackle
Dave Hobert rounded out the first team. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bishop Hafey, Bishop Hoban, Bishop O'Hara and Northwest had no all-stars. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
