I recently received my bill from Service Electric and found that it has
dropped the Disney Channel from its line-up. Recently we received a notice
that rates may go up about $1 per month in order for Disney to become part of
the basic service - no longer a premium/pay channel. Now our rates have gone
up almost $2 and Disney has been dropped. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Service Electric claims that no agreement could be reached with Disney.
Most of the other cable providers locally as well as both satellite providers
(Dish Network and DirecTV) already provide Disney as part of basic cable, as
do other branches of Service Electric. When I moved from Selinsgrove two2
years ago, we had had Disney as basic service for almost a year with Service
Electric Cablevision. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have written letters to our state and U.S. representatives asking them to
give us cable choice, and urge any other person who is upset by this to do the
same. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I am seriously considering going to satellite service and using an antenna
for local channels. It is time that we stand up to the monopoly that the cable
television industry has become. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
