WILKES-BARRE - Authorities say they are closer to arresting the person they
think killed 19-year-old Yusuf Dixon last month. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 ``(Investigators) are definitely heading in the right direction,'' said
Luzerne County District Attorney David Lupas. ``They're closing in on things.
With the progress they've made, I'm very hopeful we'll see a conclusion.'' &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Carey Avenue man was found bleeding and lying on a curb in front of 58
Regent St. at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 7. Police believe Dixon's killer fired nine
shots from a 9 mm handgun. Five shots hit Dixon, authorities said, including
one in the heart, killing him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lupas said detectives from the Wilkes-Barre police and the District
Attorney's Office have been working the case. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police said Dixon probably knew his killer. Lupas said investigators are
not sure of a motive. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police also are investigating the Nov. 19 shooting of Jody Morris. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-Barre Police Capt. Gary Dessoye said there haven't been any more
developments in the case of Morris, shot while staying at a ``flop house'' at
375 S. Franklin St. Police said Morris was homeless. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 ``It's in the same stage it's been in for some time,'' Dessoye said. Police
said earlier that others staying at the house had given conflicting reasons
why Morris, 35, was shot. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Officials at Community Medical Center in Scranton have refused to release
information about Morris, who was shot in the head. Police had said earlier
that Morris was expected to survive the shooting. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lupas said investigators have been putting in a lot of hours on the Morris
investigation. ``Hopefully we'll see the fruits of their labor.'' &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
