The fighting wasn't limited to the ice at Saturday's hockey game between
the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Hartford Wolfpack at the Hartford
Civic Center. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Five fans were arrested during an altercation that followed the Pens 4-1
victory over the Wolfpack. Several other fans were ejected from the Civic
Center with eight minutes left in the game after fighting broke out in the
stands. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During a scoreless second period, 97 penalty minutes were assessed and four
players were ejected. Penguins goalie Rich Parent was given a match penalty at
8:37 of the second period after hitting Hartford left winger Richard Scott
with his blocker. Parent was retaliating after being struck twice by Scott.
Scott was assessed a game misconduct after leaving the penalty box at 18:15 of
the second period. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Penguins forward Jason MacDonald and Hartford's Tony Tuzzolino both
received game misconducts after engaging in a prolonged bout at 5:16 of the
second period. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hartford director of public relations Kevin Kavanaugh said several fans in
the crowd of 7,572 were ejected by Civic Center security personnel after a
fight broke out in the stands with eight minutes left in the third period. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 After the game, another fight broke out on the main concourse level as fans
were exiting the Civic Center. Sergeant Neil Dryfe, a spokesman for the
Hartford Police Department, said approximately 20 people were involved in the
fight on the concourse level. Dryfe said the fight was instigated inside the
Civic Center before spilling out to the concourse. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The group scattered when police arrived. Dryfe said additional officers
were called to the Civic Center to assist the usual team of five policemen
assigned to Hartford's home games. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Five fans were arrested following the skirmish on the concourse. David
Andrews, 33, of South Windsor, Conn., Edward Nicholson, 32, of Manchester,
Conn., and Stephen Kenny, 25, of Scituate, Mass. were charged with breach of
peace according to Dryfe. Chester Stone, 31, Pembroke, Mass., was charged with
breach of peace, interfering with the police, and assault in the third degree.
Francis Selinger, 24, of Scituate, Mass., also was arrested, but as of late
Monday afternoon Dryfe was not sure what charges were filed against Selinger. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 None of those charged could be reached Monday night. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Kavanaugh said the cause of the fight is unclear. Kavanaugh said the fight
did not involve fans from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton booster club. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 ``I know there was a large group of (Penguins) booster club fans and it
didn't involve them,'' Kavanaugh said. ``There really wasn't a determination
made into what started it.'' &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
