Mixed precipitation, gusty winds could impact the Wyoming Valley this weekend

First Posted: 1/13/2015 HANOVER TWP. &#8212; The township commissioners approved the hiring of several temporary, part-time employees Monday night.
The commissioners voted to hire five temporary, part-time laborers in the Public Works Department and eight temporary part-time fire truck drivers at the rate of $10 per hour.
Tom Landon, Richard Hummer and Frank Rinkevich were appointed to two-year terms on the Zoning Hearing Board, while that John Marut was appointed to a one-year term as Vacancy Board chairman.
The commissioners also approved an emergency medical leave for road department laborer John Yodsnukis from Nov. 12 until Dec. 9, 2014.
A maximum vehicle weight restriction ordinance was passed for parts of Breaker Road.
The board accepted the resignation of attorney James Pyrah as Zoning Hearing Board solicitor and attorney John Zelinka as Planning Commission solicitor. Zelinka will replace Pyrah as the Zoning Hearing Board solicitor.
Seven township individuals were chosen to be a part of the safe school committee. A different student will be chosen on a monthly basis to fill the eighth spot. Six individuals were appointed to the Zoning Ordinance Update Committee, including Commissioner William Howatt, township Manager Samuel Guesto, township Solicitor Robert Davison, Planning Commission member George Antall, Assistant Zoning Officer Mark Bienias and community member Regina Sekol.
