First Posted: 3/12/2014 Nicole Sudal and Matthew Blockus were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, by the Rev. Michael Zipay.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Janis Sudal, Shavertown. She is the granddaughter of Vivienne Sudal, Wilkes-Barre; the late Michael Sudal; and the late Molly and Samuel June, Larksville.
The groom is the son of Thomas and Deborah Blockus, Shavertown. He is the grandson of Marion and William Coolbaugh, Parsons; Richard and Gladys Searfoss, Dallas; and the late Lauralda and Bernard Blockus, Pittston.
The bride was given away in marriage by her father. She chose her best friend, Katie Beck, as her maid of honor and her best friend, Leah Vernon, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Casey June, cousin of the bride, and Danielle Mikolosko, Meaghan Fadden, Maria Comunale, friends of the bride.
The groom chose his best friend, Pete Fulton, as his best man. Groomsmen were Adam Blockus, brother of the groom; Michael J. Sudal, brother of the bride; and Andrew Potsko, Max Strasser and David Menzel, friends of the groom.
An evening cocktail hour and reception were hosted by the parents of the bride at Radisson Lackawanna Station, Scranton. A bridal shower was hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom at Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estates, Dallas. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Andy&#8217;s River Road Diner, Plains Township.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and earned a bachelor&#8217;s degree in social work from Temple University. She is employed by Victims Resource Center, Wilkes-Barre.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Dallas High School. He is a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 542 in Wilkes-Barre.
The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica. They reside in Trucksville with their cat, Otis.
