HARRISBURG &#8212; Three Abington area projects are among the 19 in Lackawanna and Monroe counties to receive a cut of over $3.7 million in grants through the Monroe County Local Share Account (LSA), State Senator John Blake announced in a news release on May 27.Glenburn Township will receive $139,000 to replace the Humphrey Road Culvert and repave the affected roadway.Clarks Summit will receive $100,000 to renovate and transform the former firehouse garage into The Gathering Place for Community, Arts and Education.Abington Community Library will receive $55,000 for the acquisition of library materials.The grants were approved May 27 at a meeting of the Commonwealth Financing Authority. LSA funds may be used for economic development, community development and public interest projects in Monroe County and contiguous counties including Lackawanna, Carbon, Northampton, Pike and Wayne Counties.
