Luzerne holds line on taxes, OKs budget

<b>First Posted:</b> 6/2/2008<br><br>HAZLETON &amp;ndash; State police charged Anthony Gonzalez, 26, and Nunez Pita, 38, both of Hazleton, with scattering rubbish after police allege the men were discovered emptying a trailer full of carpeting and numerous full black garbage bags onto land in a wooded area about a half mile south of the Marriott Hotel on state Route 924.

WILKES-BARRE &amp;ndash; Police reported the following incidents:
&amp;bull; Ronald Uravage told police someone smashed the front windshield of his vehicle while it was parked on High Street Sunday afternoon.
&amp;bull; Phillip Woods was arrested after police said he consumed food at Sheetz on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. Sunday and left without paying for it. Theft charges were filed, police said.
&amp;bull; Joleen Pugh, of Hanover Street, told police at 11:45 p.m. Saturday that a male known to her only by a street name called her residence and made threats.
&amp;bull; Al Stilp told police at 10:49 p.m. Saturday that someone forced entry into his Poplar Street home and removed items.
&amp;bull; Thomas M. Reilly, of East Northampton Street, told police at 12:02 a.m. Sunday that his daughter allowed Jennifer Stack to use his car, but Stack failed to return the vehicle. Theft charges were filed, police said.
&amp;bull; Teresa Haas told police at 4:23 p.m. Saturday that someone removed her bike from the front porch of her New Mallery Place residence.
&amp;bull; Daniel Evanoski, 29, was stopped at Scott and Mill streets after police said they saw him sleeping in his vehicle at a traffic light on Sunday morning. Police said Evanoski had an uneven gait and was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana, pills and paraphernalia. Charges are pending results of a blood test administered at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, police said.
&amp;bull; Paul Sweet, 67, of 215 High St., reported Sunday that someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle.
&amp;bull; Kenny Reichart, 53, was charged with defiant trespass on Sunday after police say he was observed at 215 High St., where he had previously been warned not to return.
&amp;bull; Deborah Vandergriff, of Forty Fort, reported to police that her debit card was used without her permission sometime Sunday.
&amp;bull; Mary Zawilski reported to police that someone spray painted her home on South Hancock Street on Sunday.
&amp;bull; Sandra Tirpak, of Freeman Street, reported to police that someone removed and undetermined amount of money from her residence on Sunday.
