SHICKSHINNY &#8212; A Shickshinny man accused of vehicular homicide while under the influence of methamphetamine waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge John Hasay on Wednesday.State police at Shickshinny in April charged Jacob Francis Harvey, 26, after investigating a two-vehicle head-on crash on Lee Road in Conyngham Township on Feb. 8.Harvey allegedly admitted he smoked methamphetamine before his Ford Ranger crossed into oncoming traffic and colliding with a Mitsubishi Galant driven by Matthew Ruch, 54.Ruch was flown to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township where he died March 30. An autopsy showed Ruch died from multiple traumatic injuries due to a motor vehicle accident. His death was ruled a homicide by the Luzerne County Coroner&#8217;s Office.A passenger in Ruch&#8217;s vehicle, Rachel Ruch, suffered broken bones, state police said.Harvey waived charges of homicide by vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless endangerment and three counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance to Luzerne County Court.Three traffic and vehicle violations were withdrawn against Harvey.<div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta>By Ed Lewiselewis@www.timesleader.com</bylineMeta></div>
