Three men charged with conspiring to rob Dunkin’ Donuts in Plymouth

<p>SCRANTON &#8212; Federal prosecutors on Wednesday filed a motion seeking to continue the bank fraud trial of Leo Glodzik III, which is scheduled to begin Monday.</p><p>No reason was given with the latest request to postpone Glodzik&#8217;s trial but prosecutors stated &#8220;the ends of justice will be served by a continuance of the trial,&#8221; and allow the parties to prepare for a trial or discuss proposals that may resolve the need for a trial.</p><p>In early June, prosecutors filed a similar request, which was granted, claiming plea negotiations were underway with Glodzik&#8217;s attorney, Joseph Sklarosky Sr.</p><p>U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo had not made a ruling on the request as of Wednesday afternoon.</p><p>Glodzik, 44, of Wilkes-Barre, was indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2014 along with Amanda Magda Plisko, 29, and former Wilkes-Barre police officer Tino Ninotti, 35, on bank fraud related charges over a questionable loan issued by the Wilkes-Barre City Employees Federal Credit Union. Plisko was an assistant manager at the credit union.</p><p>Federal prosecutors alleged Glodzik gave Ninotti a vehicle identification number when Ninotti applied for a $25,086 loan to purchase a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck. The loan was not used to purchase the Dodge and the vehicle identification number Ninotti listed on the loan application as collateral did not match the pickup truck, the indictment says.</p><p>Magda pleaded guilty on Monday to bank fraud for her alleged role in witnessing Tino Ninotti sign his brother&#8217;s name, Dino Ninotti, on the loan document. She is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 6.</p><p>U.S. Assistant Attorney Michelle L. Olshefski said Monday Dino Ninotti was in Afghanistan when the loan document was signed.</p><p>Ninotti pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 17.</p><p>Glodzik was hit with a superseding indictment in April charging him with additional fraud offenses alleging he aided in the making of a false statement by using a fraudulent check drawn on a closed bank account as collateral for a $3,500 loan from the credit union to Ninotti in July 2013.</p><p>A similar request was made to continue Glodzik&#8217;s trial on July 27 on a separate indictment charging him with illegally possessing two rifles, a shotgun and ammunition in his home when he was arrested by state police and federal agents on Aug. 13. A felony theft conviction in Luzerne County Court in May 2014 prohibited Glodzik from owning, carrying and possessing firearms, the indictment says.</p><p>Glodzik began serving his three-to-12 month sentence on the theft conviction on June 20 in the county correctional facility. He had remained free while he appealed the theft conviction with the state Superior Court, which upheld the conviction earlier this year.</p><p>Glodzik&#8217;s company, LAG Towing and Transport, had the exclusive towing contract for Wilkes-Barre until Mayor Thomas Leighton terminated the contract in April.</p><style>
