Lehman Twp. gets funds for road repair

<p>DALLAS TWP. &#8212; Over a dozen residents of the Elmcrest subdivision attended Tuesday&#8217;s Board of Supervisors meeting to voice concerns about storm water runoff related to recent utility and paving work.</p><p>President of the Elmcrest Homeowner&#8217;s Association, W. James Pall, said many residents are plagued by standing water caused by the elimination of a storm water swale and the creation of a 4-6-inch hump of asphalt that causes water to overflow onto driveways.</p><p>The board said the township will investigate the matter. &#8220;We&#8217;ll try to do our best,&#8221; said Township Supervisor Frank Wagner.</p><p>In another Elmcrest matter, a resident complained that since the removal of the center island at the entrance of the subdivision over a year ago, the traffic conditions have worsened. Roadmaster Martin Barry said he&#8217;s had reports that traffic has in fact slowed down at the entrance. He said lines were painted to direct traffic, but they must have faded from the winter. He added that new lines will be painted late this summer or early fall.</p><p>In other business, the board voted to purchase a new street paver from Weiler Products of Knoxville, Iowa in the amount of $150,491 under the state&#8217;s COSTARS program.</p><p>The board announced that the Dallas Area Municipal Authority (DAMA) is considering installing a low-pressure sanitary sewer system to serve residents of Overbrook Road, Bryan and Hilco Drives and Reservoir Road. A meeting will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 7 p.m. in the Dallas Township conference room to discuss the proposed project.
