WILKES-BARRE — City police reported a number of arrests related to the drug spice, also know as synthetic marijuana, on Monday and Tuesday.

• Marvin Calk, 31, was taken into custody after police say he was found staggering across Public Square at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, nearly falling into the roadway. He was taken into custody for possession of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Four Wilkes-Barre residents were arrested on Monday near Franklin and West Market streets at about 10:30 p.m. Amanda Reyes, 26, Alisha Snyder, 23, Jeremy Roper 45, and Neil Kearns, 51, were described by police as exhibiting “classic signs of being intoxicated on alcohol and/or spice.” All suspects were cited for intoxication, with Reyes and Snyder being transported to a local medical facility “due to their intoxicated level on spice.”

• At about 6 p.m. on Monday, Danielle Herring, 32, Glen Lyon, and Solomon Vanbrunt, 23, Wilkes-Barre, were picked up near South Washington and Northampton streets after officers said they observed Vanbrunt having a hard time walking, while Herring was seated on the sidewalk. Police allege both parties were found to be in possession of spice, a needle and empty baggies of heroin. Both were arrested.
