<p>JIM THORPE &#8212; Philadelphia blueswoman Deb Callahan will be a special guest at 40 Story Radio Tower, the monthly Mauch Chunk Opera House celebration of the spoken word, music, poetry, micro-theater, and comedy, set for 8 p.m. Sept. 24.</p><p>Callahan has just released a new CD entitled &#8220;Sweet Soul&#8221; to rave reviews from the press and she will play some choice tracks with her band.</p><p>40 Story Radio Tower will also salute old-time radio serials by presenting &#8220;the tragic Missed America.&#8221; In this installment, Hazel, Peat, Jack and Granny run into their first Beauty Queen, the debilitatingly honest Miss Nevada, in their search to find Jane. Meanwhile, Mariska is confronted with the despotic-or-not Baron and his sons in Micheal Newton&#8217;s disarming, hilarious and disturbing serial.</p><p>Tickets are only $10 and available 24/7 on the Opera House website, www.mcohjt.com, by visiting SoundCheck Records in downtown Jim Thorpe or by calling (570) 325-4009.
