Lady Comets junior high field hockey team donates to charities

First Posted: 12/27/2014 Dunmore &#8212; PennDOT employees from the District 4 Office conducted their annual Christmas Wish Program, this year collecting funds from employees to purchase toys and pajamas for 33 students at Head Start in Scranton.
With the donations, they were also able to adopt a local family in need by filling their Christmas wish list.
Several employees hit the road on Thursday, Dec. 18, along with Santa, to deliver the gifts to the children. Santa was escorted to by a PennDOT dump truck and local fire truck. The children were also given the opportunity to check out the big red fire engine that brought Santa to the facility. They were able to try on some firefighters&#8217; gear and sit in the truck, thanks to the Chinchilla Fire Department.
