COURTDALE &#8212; A 17-year-old boy from Kingston was arraigned Monday, two days after Courtdale police alleged he crashed a vehicle on Courtdale Avenue when he and another teenager attempted to flee after they rummaged through vehicles and stole a rifle and other items.Argenis Lopez, of Church Street, was charged as an adult by Courtdale police with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm by a minor, theft, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving without a license and reckless driving. He was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.Jasenry Cruz, 19, of Plains Township, was arraigned Sunday on six counts of theft, five counts of receiving stolen property and four counts of loitering and prowling at night. He remained jailed Monday for lack of $40,000 bail.According to the criminal complaint:Courtdale police spotted two men looking into vehicles on Wood Street at about 4 a.m. Saturday. When the officer approached, they fled on foot through rear yards of homes on Charles Street and Courtdale Avenue.The officer later spotted Lopez sitting in a Pontiac on Courtdale Avenue.As the officer was turning around, Lopez sped away at a high rate of speed and then lost control. The car landed on its side in the area of 55 Courtdale Ave.Lopez and Cruz, a passenger in the Pontiac, were not injured.Police allege in the complaint a Ruger rifle inside the Pontiac was stolen from a vehicle in Courtdale.Multiple credit cards, two global positioning system units, prescription eyeglasses and a prescription pill bottle inside the Pontiac were stolen from vehicles in Courtdale and Lehman Township, the complaint says.<div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta>By Ed Lewiselewis@www.timesleader.com</bylineMeta></div><div class="metaInfo"><shirttailMeta>Reach Ed Lewis at 570-991-6116 or on Twitter @TLEdLewis</shirttailMeta></div>
