PRINGLE &#8212; A woman from Carbon County was arraigned Thursday and two others are facing charges after Kingston police allegedly found a loaded handgun, packaged bags of marijuana and contraband inside a vehicle.Police said they stopped a vehicle for a non-functioning license plate light in the area of Union and Evans streets just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.An officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle allegedly occupied by Courtney Ann Mesh, 26, of Nesquehoning; Deschene Donovan, 23, of Monroe Township, Wyoming County; and Rashawn Nelson, 19, of Tobyhanna, Monroe County.Police said during the traffic stop, Mesh, Donovan and Nelson lit cigarettes in an attempt to mask the marijuana odor, according to the criminal complaint.Donovan, the driver, allegedly told police she discarded a marijuana cigar but claimed another cigar was inside the vehicle.Police searched the vehicle, allegedly finding a cigarette pack that contained a marijuana cigar, four bags of marijuana, a large bag with marijuana residue that had &#8220;Oz&#8221; written on it indicating the word &#8220;ounce,&#8221; a digital scale, three cell phones and a .40-caliber Rugar handgun loaded with 12 rounds, the complaint says.The handgun was reported stolen to West Pittston police earlier this year, police said.Police allege in the complaint Mesh removed a bag of marijuana from her bra.Mesh was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and firearms not to be carried without a license. She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail.Police said Donovan and Nelson were charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
