Elderly Larksville man sentenced to prison for molesting 6-year-old

Wyoming Borough police seek suspect in burglary of Angelo’s Pizza & Restaurant in Midway Shopping Center

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Police are still investigating three incidents of gunfire that erupted at various locations in the city Wednesday and Thursday.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre police Chief Robert Hughes explained that the three cases do not appear to be related.</p><p>Police say a man walking home Wednesday night on High Street sustained a gunshot wound in what they described as an attempted robbery. On Thursday, gunfire erupted on on Grove Street, about two blocks from Dodson Elementary School, as well as another incident reported in the first block of Gildersleeve.</p><p>Police described the suspect in the High Street shooting as a a black man standing approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a puffy jacket, black pants and a black beanie hat.</p><p>Hughes said the suspect in the Grove Street shooting is also a black man, standing approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and dark sneakers or boots.</p><p>Hughes said investigators gathered some evidence from the scene on Gildersleeve Street, which has since been sent to the Pennsylvania State Police crime lab.</p><p>Hughes said officers did get a tip from a witness about a vehicle leaving the scene of that shooting and, after further investigation and looking up the vehicle&#8217;s registration information, were able to make a traffic stop in Edwardsville.</p><p>Hughes said police took more evidence from the vehicle, but didn&#8217;t make any arrests.</p><p>&#8220;Until we get the results of that back &#8230; then we&#8217;ll be able to make an arrest,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Hughes said that none of the three shootings are related and that he didn&#8217;t know why they happened.</p><p>He did, however, speculate that the shootings on Grove and Gildersleeve streets may have been drug-related &#8220;one way or another.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;We all know the battle on drugs is a tough battle,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We&#8217;re just going to continue to flood problem areas with officers.&#8221;</p><p>Hughes also said that his department would continue to make drug arrests, as well as maintaining a high presence in areas known for drug-related activity.</p><style>
