<p>KINGSTON &#8212; Mountain View came out firing in Monday&#8217;s District 2 Class A semifinal at Wyoming Seminary.</p><p>Seminary keeper Kyle Hall came out fired up, and set the tone.</p><p>The senior Hall made two key saves off corner kicks just seven minutes into Monday&#8217;s match. From there, the Blue Knights took momentum and never gave it back, pulling out a 2-0 victory at Nesbitt Memorial Stadium. With the win, Wyoming Seminary advances to the championship game for the second straight season.</p><p>The Blue Knights will get Montrose in Wednesday&#8217;s final, at 6 p.m. at Scranton High School, in a rematch of last year&#8217;s title contest won by Sem 4-0. The fourth-seeded Meteors upset top-seeded Lakeland on Monday 3-2 in the other Class A semi.</p><p>Early in Monday&#8217;s match, the Eagles were looking to capitalize off consecutive corner kicks. The first one sailed perfectly to a player right by the net. But Hall punched it away out of bounds. Consequently that set up another corner for Mountain View. Another opportunity was stopped by Hall, this time he caught it. Those were the only two shots the Eagles mustered in the first half.</p><p>&#8220;That could have set the tone. He held his line. That first shot looked he was ready to bend it in and Kyle was ready and just alert and knocked it out,&#8221; said Seminary coach Rev. Charles Carrick. &#8220;Maybe that came at a good time because it maybe settled their butterflies and they got into their game.&#8221;</p><p>Once Sem got on the offensive, it didn&#8217;t let up. The team controlled possession in the first half, wearing down Mountain View defenders with short passes and attacking the goal. The Blue Knights peppered the Mountain View goal with five shots in the last 30 minutes of the first half, which appeared to take a toll on Eagles defenders.</p><p>That paid dividends early in the second half when the Blue Knights received their first and only corner kick of the game. The ball sailed from the corner and Andrew Kim was the second Sem player to get a foot on it after it came inbounds and he struck the net from about 30 yards out for a 1-0 lead with 31:32 remaining.</p><p>&#8220;We possess the ball, we move the ball. As long as we can stay within one, two and three touches then they&#8217;re doing the work and we aren&#8217;t and I think that had an effect in the second half,&#8221; Carrick said. &#8220;The first half was great intensity, great movement of the ball.&#8221;</p><p>The Blue Knights got breathing room about six minutes later when Kim received a pass from Sujay Murthy and again found the back of the goal beating Mountain View keeper Jesse Gerfin for a 2-0 lead with the clock reading 25:43.</p><p>From there, Seminary relaxed and coasted to the championship game.</p><p>&#8220;Anytime you go up 2-0, you&#8217;re a little more relaxed. You&#8217;re a little worried at some times, but you know they&#8217;re going to have to chase the game,&#8221; Carrick added. &#8220;And if you&#8217;re patient you can possess the ball and slow the game down when they want to speed it up.&#8221;</p><p>The defending district champs will look to repeat as Class A victors for the first time since winning back-to-back district titles in 2001 and 2002. Sure, the Blue Knights dominated Montrose in last year&#8217;s final, but this is a different year, Carrick stressed.</p><p>&#8220;Every season it&#8217;s a new season and new teams,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We had a lot of seniors last year. We have a different team than last year.
