Letter to the Editor: Pringle residents’ safety never compromised with veto of police contract, mayor says

I am member of Zebra Communication&#8217;s Salvation Army account team. Recently Zebra, the student-run public relations agency at Wilkes University visited the Salvation Army. I learned how much the organization is in need of the community&#8217;s help to &#8220;Do the Most Good&#8221; this holiday season.Every year the Salvation Army lets those in need come into the center and register for &#8220;Angel Tree&#8221; tags. These tags are given so children can fill out their age, gender and a few gifts they would like to receive on Christmas morning.Coats are also needed. Donations of gently used coats of all sizes are welcomed. It&#8217;s getting colder, and the coats will be distributed to those who are less fortunate, including children, men and women.It&#8217;s not only gifts and clothes that are needed, but food as well. The Salvation Army offers a food pantry to those in need. On Thanksgiving the army offers meals for more than 500 families. The donated food should be nonperishable items, such as noodles, sauces, canned fruit, cereal, canned goods and boxed dinners.The food and gifts can be dropped off at the local Salvation Army, 17 Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
