<p>HARRISBURG &#8212; Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced Thursday that criminal charges have been filed against 15 individuals across the state following unrelated insurance fraud investigations.</p><p>One of those individuals is from Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>Bonifacio Hernandez, 52, of Water Street is charged with 12 counts of forgery and one count each of insurance fraud and theft by deception.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint, Hernandez submitted a claim to Allstate Insurance in which he stated that items valued at approximately $14,000 were stolen from his residence.</p><p>The items, which he allegedly said were purchased from Amazon.com, included two computers, a gas-powered generator, a digital camera and a diamond ring, among other items.</p><p>Investigators said they discovered the receipts Hernandez submitted as proof of purchase for the allegedly stolen items were forgeries.</p><p>Hernandez waived a preliminary hearing and is scheduled to appear Jan. 15 for a formal arraignment at the Luzerne County Courthouse.</p><style>
