The following are recent Lackawanna County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According to the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. Violations: Working containers in ware-wash area, used for storing chemicals taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. The chemicals were identified and labeled during this inspection. Food employees observed in kitchen and pizza prep areas not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets and hats. A food employee was observed touching a sub roll, a ready-to-eat food, with bare hands. Employee was instructed to wash hands and use gloves when handling ready to eat foods. Observed two mesh bags of onions stored directly on the floor in the walk-in cooler area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. The onions were moved during this inspection. Observed freshly grilled chicken cooling in a plastic container with a lid. Storage container with food item, in serving area, is displayed in direct contact with ice. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Clean dish racks observed stored on the floor in ware-wash area. Several are cracked/roughened, and it is not a smooth, easily cleanable surface. The floor/wall juncture cove molding in seafood walk-in cooler area is cracked broken and need of repair. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Oil leaking for the motor and dripping down the stem of the table mixer. Floor storage of boxes and paper in the back room by the exit door. Boxes blocking entry into the room and impeding cleaning and inspection.The Jive, 113 Van Brunt St., Moscow, Nov. 5, Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Excessive QA sanitizer in the spray bottle on the counter. The bottle was refilled with 200 ppm QA and water. Observed a soiled, wet wiping cloth on the prep counter, not being stored in sanitizer solution. The cloth was removed from the counter; and a container of sanitizer and water placed by the counter. Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available in the freezers. Observed bedding, a folding bed and clothing in the food facility, indicating use of the food facility as living or sleeping quarters. Garden hose connected to the outdoor hand-wash sink. Shall use a food-grade hose.
