<p>At some point, senior day at Penn State will feel normal again. But not just yet.</p><p>For now, the Beaver Stadium finale remains a reminder of the chaotic past four years at the school, including the Jerry Sandusky scandal, the ousting and death of Joe Paterno and the now-removed NCAA sanctions against the program.</p><p>&#8220;These seniors, in four to five years, have been through what most programs probably go through in 20 years,&#8221; Nittany Lions coach James Franklin said Tuesday at his weekly press conference. &#8220;You can list it out. Five different head coaches in 27 months. You think about the sanctions. You think about the bowl (ban). You think about the loss of coaches. You think the loss of personnel and teammates.</p><p>&#8220;You just think about everything that these guys have been through, and they&#8217;re kind of the glue. They&#8217;re the glue that kept this program together. They&#8217;re the glue and the foundation that stood strong when Penn State needed them the most.&#8221;</p><p>In all, Penn State will honor 19 players during senior day celebrations before Saturday&#8217;s game against Michigan. Of that group, only five &#8212; OL Angelo Mangiro, DE Carl Nassib, CB Trevor Williams, DT Anthony Zettel and injured SS Jordan Lucas &#8212; were full-time starters this season.</p><p>Six of the 19 will be leaving with at least one season of eligibility remaining.</p><p>Of those six, only safety Anthony Smith is on scholarship. Smith is only a redshirt sophomore but hasn&#8217;t seen the field in the last two seasons after initially appearing on special teams in 2013. He has battled injuries ever since and has typically not been in pads on Saturdays.</p><p>The other five are walk-ons &#8212; linebacker Jack Haffner, offensive lineman Albert Hall, defensive back Colin Harrop, and tight ends Charles Idemudia and Dominic Salomone.</p><p><strong>Hack stays mum</strong></p><p>Christian Hackenberg won&#8217;t be one of the players recognized in the pregame ceremonies. But it could be his final game at Beaver Stadium as well.</p><p>Not surprisingly, the quarterback did not address whether he was thinking about leaving early Penn State for the NFL draft after this season.</p><p>&#8220;Not really,&#8221; Hackenberg said. &#8220;I&#8217;m just focusing on it one week at a time, doing what I need to do to make sure I&#8217;m the most prepared I can. &#8230; It&#8217;s a great challenge that we have this week against Michigan. They bring a lot of stuff to the table. So we&#8217;re really excited about that, and I think that&#8217;s where all of our heads are right now.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Infirmary report</strong></p><p>With a bye week to heal up, Penn State is hopeful to have a relatively healthy lineup to face the Wolverines.</p><p>That includes Nassib, who was injured in the fourth quarter of the Northwestern game and was not on the field for the Wildcats&#8217; winning field goal drive.</p><p>&#8226; Tackle Andrew Nelson could also return to the starting lineup. Nelson has been dealing with a chronic knee issue for much of the season. He dressed against Northwestern but only made a brief cameo on the field. Brendan Mahon has been playing right tackle in his place.</p><p>&#8226; Franklin said last week that kicker Joey Julius would be available once again after he stayed home during the team&#8217;s trip to Evanston two weeks ago.</p><p>Though Franklin hasn&#8217;t been specific on who will be kicking on Saturday, he has said before that the duties could be split, possibly with Julius kicking off and Tyler Davis taking field goals.</p><p>&#8226; Michigan, meanwhile, is hurting in the middle of its defensive line.</p><p>Despite boasting one of the country&#8217;s best run defenses for much of the season, the Wolverines are down to their third-string nose tackle as Ryan Glasgow is likely to miss the rest of the year with a pectoral injury, according to Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.</p><p>He was badly missed on Saturday against Indiana as the Hoosiers gashed the Wolverines for 307 yards on the ground before Michigan prevailed in double overtime.</p><p>Glasgow had been very strong playing in place of projected starter Bryan Mone, who broke his leg during training camp.</p><p><strong>Up for honors</strong></p><p>Both Glasgow and Nassib made an awards list on Tuesday as two of the 10 semifinalists for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the nation&#8217;s top former walk-on.</p><p>Former Penn State and West Scranton quarterback Matt McGloin won the honor in 2012.</p><style>
