Letter to the Editor: Rethink plan for a merged high school in downtown Wilkes-Barre

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police cited three people with public drunkenness in separate incidents earlier this week.</p><p>&#8226; Police say Angela Velazquez, 33, of Wilkes-Barre, was under the influence of a controlled substance in public to the degree she was a danger to herself or others when they encountered her at a Dougher Lane location at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.</p><p>&#8226; Police say Adam Crawford, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, was cited after being observed in public intoxicated on High Street at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.</p><p>&#8226; And Gary Richard McCracken, 46, of Larksville, was cited after police say they responded to a complaint of McCracken causing a disturbance at a North Pennsylvania Avenue location at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday.</p><p>Officers found McCracken to be intoxicated in public to the degree that he was a danger to himself and others as well as an annoyance to those in his vicinity, and he was taken into custody, police said.</p><style>
