<p>NANTICOKE &#8212;A preliminary hearing for a woman charged after a foot chase that resulted in the reported injury of a police officer in July was continued.</p><p>Brandy Peters, 33, appeared Wednesday before District Judge Donald Whittaker. Peters&#8217; attorney John Donovan said the matter would be continued for 60 days, although the reason for the continuation was not immediately clear.</p><p>The next hearing is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Feb. 10 before Whittaker.</p><p>Police say they were called to a residence on Center Street July 17 for a woman who was wanted. Police confirmed Peters had three outstanding warrants out of the Luzerne County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, Luzerne County Probation and Parole and Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department.</p><p>Police said, upon arrival, they saw Peters cutting grass in an adjacent property.</p><p>When approached by police, Peters first walked and then ran alongside the residence heading east.</p><p>During a brief police pursuit, Peters allegedly opened a wrought iron gate and slammed it shut, striking an officer, causing him to lose his balance and fall.</p><p>Although reportedly injured, the officer pursued Peters and took her to the ground near a wooded area.</p><p>At that time, police said they were able to handcuff Peters, although she was still allegedly yelling and screaming, striking officers in the legs, arms and hands.</p><p>Peters faces felony charges of aggravated assault and flight to avoid apprehension and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of resisting arrest.</p><p>Peters is free on bail.</p><style>
