Pittsburgh carjackers run away from stick-shift vehicle

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Shareholders were set to vote on a deal for Pittsburgh-based FNB Corp. to take over Metro Bancorp, the Harrisburg-based owner of Metro Bank. If it's approved in Thursday's votes, First National Bank would acquire Metro Bank's 32 branches. The deal would make Pittsburgh-based FBN the largest regional banking chain in Pennsylvania. Metro Bank shareholders were scheduled to meet and vote in Harrisburg at 10 a.m., while First National shareholders will do the same in Pittsburgh. The all-stock transaction is valued at $474 million. Once approved, the merger will be completed in the first quarter of this year, with Metro Bank's assets merging into FNB, at which point Metro will no longer exist.
