Scattered areas of traffic congestion should do little to slow commute

<p>While uncertainty remains about how the winter storm that could impact Northeastern Pennsylvania this weekend, the rest of the week looks fairly quiet.</p><p>The National Weather Service indicated that it was 24 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.</p><p>Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, with a high near 28. Those cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers between 9 p.m. and midnight. Less than a half an inch of snow is expected, and the low will be around 18.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 27. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, with a low around 14.</p><p><strong>The weekend&#8217;s forecast</strong></p><p>Snow is expected throughout a good portion of the weekend, but no snowfall amounts have yet been predicted.</p><p>Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, with a high near 28.</p><p>Clouds will move into the region on Friday night, with a snow likely after 1 a.m. A 70 percent chance of snow is predicted, and the low will be around 22.</p><p>Clouds will stick around into Saturday, along with a 60 percent chance of snow. The high will be near 27. Saturday night will also bring cloudy skies and a 40 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 17.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies are predicted to quietly end the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 29.
