PITTSBURGH (AP) — A cardiologist and a woman who ran a Pennsylvania methadone clinic raided by federal agents last fall have been charged with running a "pill mill." Sixty-seven-year-old Dr. Dominic Dileo and 64-year-old Rosalind Sugarmann are accused of distributing pain pills and other drugs that were "not for a legitimate medical purpose." Sugarmann headed the Addiction Specialists clinic in North Union Township that was raided, and later caught fire, last fall. Dileo practices in nearby Uniontown. Both are about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh. Federal court records don't list attorneys for either defendant. They'll be arraigned Feb. 9 by a federal magistrate in Pittsburgh. Dileo didn't immediately return a message left at his office Thursday. The number for the addiction clinic has been disconnected. Dileo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a Medicare fraud conviction in the 1990s.
