DALLAS - &#8220;Our Town Dallas,&#8221; the next edition in WVIA&#8217;s &#8220;Our Town&#8221; series, premieres at 7 p.m. on Thursday on WVIA TV. An encore presentation will be broadcast at noon on Sunday.As northeastern Pennsylvania&#8217;s and the central Susquehanna Valley&#8217;s member supported public television station serving a very large geographic area, the &#8220;Our Town&#8221; project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA public media. The &#8220;Our Town&#8221; television series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.Natona Mills, a thriving industry in the late 1940&#8217;s, is now the Twin Stacks Center offering new opportunities in the Back Mountain. Students in the Dallas School District connect with community leaders to learn first-hand about preparing for their careers. The Rasmussen House of Misericordia University offers young mothers opportunities to earn their college degrees.Agricultural roots are generations deep and harvested yearly at Brace&#8217;s Orchard. Verve Vertu Art Studio is a haven of creativity and gifted local artists and The Back Mountain Library Auction is one of the highlights of the summer coupled with occasional detours to Harvey&#8217;s Lake for a change of scenery.&#8220;Our Town Dallas,&#8221; is produced in partnership with the Dallas Post and Times Leader.
