<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The national average gas prices has spent 37 consecutive days below the $2-mark, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.</p><p>That trend is expected to continue right up through spring.</p><p>AAA Mid-Atlantic reported the following for today&#8217;s average gas prices:</p><p>&#8226; Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s average is at $1.95 today, down from $1.98 last week. The price a year ago today was $2.33.</p><p>&#8226; Pennsylvania&#8217;s average is at $1.97 today, down from $1.99 a week ago. The price a year ago today was $2.34.</p><p>&#8226; National average is at $1.74 today, down from $1.80 a week ago. The price a year ago today was $2.17.</p><p>Jana Tidwell, manager of public and government affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic, said the &#8220;imbalance between supply and demand and the resolution of distribution and refinery issues&#8221; has contributed to the falling gas prices.</p><p>AAA Mid-Atlantic&#8217;s news release, however, indicated that daily price reductions are beginning to slow, which could suggest the prices will soon be impacted by increased costs at refineries as they shut down for maintenance and begin producing the more expensive summer blend of gasoline.</p><p>Tidwell, however, anticipated that prices would stay low for at least the foreseeable future.</p><p>&#8220;Barring any major supply or distribution issues, and if the price of crude remains depressed, prices at the pump remain poised to continue lower heading into the spring maintenance season,&#8221; Tidwell said.</p><style>
