AAA Mid-Atlantic: National average gas price under $2 for over a month

<p>Edwin Davies, a former West Pittston resident now residing at Wesley Village, celebrated his 105th birthday with his family on Jan. 28, 2016. Born in 1911 he lived in West Pittston for 100 years.</p><p>He was well known for being one of the best halfbacks ever developed at West Pittston High School, as documented in local newspapers. He was captain of the 1929 team and earned the nickname &#8220;Tarzan.&#8221; A natural athlete, he played baseball, pole vaulted nine feet and ran a 100 yard dash in 10 seconds.</p><p>Ed was one of four original managers of the West Pittston Little League in 1951.</p><p>He was married to the late Kathryn Wilsey Davies for 70 years. He has two daughters: Nancy Miller (William) of Mountain Top and Lois Schwartz (John) of West Pittston. He has five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.</p><style>
