The following are recent Lackawanna County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Also, at the time of the inspection violations are recorded but are often corrected on site prior to the inspector leaving the establishment.&#8221; The information is taken from the inspection database at www.eatsafepa.com. Postal addresses used here are as listed on the state&#8217;s website, and may not correspond to the municipalities in which facilities are physically located.Domino&#8217;s Pizza/Take Out only, 213 N. Main St., Old Forge, Jan 26. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food facility has an original certificate posted, but the location is not conspicuous for public viewing. Three-door refrigerator is not holding 41 degrees F or below. Refrigerator not to be used to hold potentially hazardous foods. Person in charge is aware of temperature issues. Lights are not shielded or shatterproof over the ware-wash area. Ceiling tiles missing in the ware-wash area and need to be replaced.Elmhurst Quik Stop &amp; Mini Mart, 554 State Route 435, Elmhurst, Jan 26. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food ingredient storage container in the cabinet below the coffee urns is not labeled with the common name of the food or covered. The container was covered and labeled. Toilet tissue is not provided in the women&#8217;s restroom. Toilet tissue was placed in the restroom.Indigo Spoon, 317 Baker Lane, Clarks Summit, Jan 26. Regular inspection; in compliance.Jersey Mike&#8217;s Subs, 539 Scranton Carbondale Highway, Dickson City, Jan 26. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: A spray bottle of clear liquid on the shelf above the prep table in the back area is not labeled. The bottle was labeled. Paper cup being used as a scoop in the sugar container in the cabinet at the self-service counter. Shall use a scoop with a handle to minimize hand contact with the sugar. Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available in the baine maries behind the counter. Thermometers were placed in baine maries. Food facility does not have available QAC sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Personal clothing items are on the food storage shelf in the back area. Violations: Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available in the cook line baine marie. A thermometer was placed in the baine marie.Old food residue on the bottom of the Traulsen 2-door freezer on the cook line. The asst. manager stated that the freezer will be cleaned tonight. An open employee&#8217;s beverage container was observed in baking area, a food preparation area. Beverage was removed during this inspection. Temperature measuring devices for ensuring proper temperatures of equipment are not available or readily accessible in two bain maries in the main kitchen. Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards in walk-in cooler) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.Albi&#8217;s Pizzeria and Family Restaurant, 80 S. Main St., Unit 2, Archbald, Jan 27. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food facility operator completed food handler certificate of achievement but failed to complete ServSafe test. Sanitarian gave owner contact information for completing food safety exam. Proof of enrollment in a certification course required within 10 days. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. Can opener had old dried residue on the blade and was not clean to sight and touch. Follow up inspection; in compliance.Mariano&#8217;s Cucina, 414 Church St., Jessup, Jan 27. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Dust accumulation in the fan guards in walk-in cooler. Non-food contact surfaces (door handles) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt.Price Chopper #169, 1510 S. Main Ave., Taylor, Jan 27. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Observed four 12.8-ounce cans of Enfamil with iron with a sell-by date of Dec. 1, 2015, on the the retail sales floor. The cans were voluntarily removed from sale during this inspection. Paper cups (without handles) observed in bulk food ingredient storage containers in the bagel bakery area. The cups were removed during this inspection. Food labeling placards observed in the deli case do not accurately identify the deli cheese. Several labels on products indicate that they are cheese products; however store placards indicate cheese. The interior of the microwave oven in the bagel bakery area, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The microwave was cleaned during this inspection. Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards in the dairy walk-in cooler) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. Floor underneath prep table in bagel bakery area has an accumulation of old seeds. Floor underneath rotisserie and cooking equipment of the Bella Roma area has an accumulation of old food residue and debris. Observed five to six fruit fly-like insects on the the side of the oven in the bagel bakery area. Bagel bakery area was being cleaned at the close of this inspection.Rossi&#8217;s Restorante, 150 S. Main St., Archbald, Jan 27. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food employees at prep area were observed handling ready-to-eat foods with bare hand contact. Observed wet wiping cloth in prep area, not being stored in sanitizer solution while not in use. Food contact surface of wood cutting board is not smooth, easily cleanable and/or resistant to pitting, cracking or scratching. Fan guard in walk-in cooler observed with accumulation of dust. Observed clean food equipment and/or utensils in kitchen basement area stored uncovered or not inverted.The Coach, 129 Pike St., Carbondale, Jan 27. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Observed cheese grinder equipment in the kitchen area with an accumulation of dried food residue, debris on non-food contact surfaces.Uno Chicago Pizzeria, 3905 Commerce Blvd., Dickson City, Jan 27. Regular inspection; out of compliance. Violations: Working container in bar area, used for storing chemicals taken from bulk supplies, was not marked with the common name of the chemical. The chemical was identified as sanitizer and was labeled during this inspection. The person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Food employees observed in kitchen area not wearing proper hair restraints such as nets, hats or beard covers. Plastic containers without handles were observed in several bulk food ingredient containers in the kitchen. The containers were removed during this inspection. One of six soups was held at 123 degrees F in the self-service soup buffet area rather than at 135 degrees F or above as required. The soup was reheated in the microwave during this inspection. Salad fixings were held at 50-60 degrees F in the salad bain marie in the kitchen area rather than at 41 degrees F or below as required. All fixings were placed on ice during this inspection. Salad fixings bain marie observed with a heavy build up of ice causing unit to be out of appropriate temperature. Unit will be defrosted. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. Non-food contact surfaces (inside doors and floors of several refrigerators) are not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of old food residue and debris. Food facility does not provide lockers or storage for food employee personal clothing and possessions. Employee possessions observed in food prep and storage areas throughout kitchen. All possessions were removed and placed in areas designated by the manager during this inspection. Floors underneath cooking equipment and ware-wash machine areas have an accumulation of old food debris, dirt and grease. Mop sink area and back hall observed with an accumulation of used aprons, debris and dirt. The area was cleaned during this inspection. Wall in pizza area was observed with an accumulation of old food residue and grease. The area was cleaned during this inspection.<style>
