<p>Dr. William V. Lewis Jr., of Jenkins Township, has been elected to the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers, New York, following his completion of studies through the academy as well as through the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University in New York City.</p><p>Lewis is a vice president, wealth management advisor and portfolio manager with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Wilkes-Barre. He is a certified financial planner, a chartered financial consultant as well a certified retirement planning counselor.</p><p>He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilkes University, a Master of Science in financial services from The American College of Financial Services and a Master of Public Administration and a doctorate from Lehigh University.</p><p>He has served on the adjunct faculty of Wilkes University and King&#8217;s College.</p><p>Lewis is a past president and current board member of the Luzerne County Historical Society and currently serves as a commissioner of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, where he chairs the state historic marker selection committee. He is an officer of the Wyoming Commemorative Association.</p><p>He served as chair of the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and as chair of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Red Cross Regional Blood Center. He also served on the national Board of Governors of The American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. He is a former president of the Family Service Association of Wyoming Valley.</p><style>
