HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The court that rules on allegations of ethical misconduct by Pennsylvania jurists is giving itself more time to decide what to do in the pending case of a state Supreme Court justice who abruptly retired last week. The Court of Judicial Discipline issued an order Tuesday halting proceedings in the case of Michael Eakin while it considers a set of "stipulated facts" submitted to it Thursday, two days after Eakin quit the bench. The order says Eakin has waived the right to go to trial, present argument, make recommendations or submit briefs for any reason. Eakin is accused of violating judicial conduct rules by his role in swapping bawdy and objectionable emails. The unanimous order says the matter is on hold until further notice.
