Misericordia softball extends win streak to 10 games

<p>Michael Williams had 18 assists, 12 points and three aces as Crestwood defeated Tunkhannock 3-0 Tuesday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball in three close games.</p><p>The Comets won 25-23, 26-24 and 25-22.</p><p>Mendell Foreman had eight kills and four points for Crestwood. Kyle Sanders had six kills and two blocks. Matt Lacoste served 10 points and added three blocks and three kills.</p><p>Ian Farr (4 points, 7 digs, 4 assists), Daulton Cavanaugh ( 7 points, 2 blocks) and Hunter Prevost (8 points, 4 kills) paced Tunkhannock.</p><p><strong>Holy Redeemer 3,</strong></p><p><strong>Hazleton Area 0</strong></p><p>John Carr had 10 kills, nine points and three blocks in the Royals&#8217; 25-10, 25-7, 25-5 victory.</p><p>Rob Zbierski added four kills and four blocks. Ben Rachilla had four kills and three blocks. Nick James posted four kills, 16 assists and 19 points. Mike Mohutski recorded 15 points, three assists and two digs.</p><p><strong>BOYS TENNIS</strong></p><p><strong>Holy Redeemer 5,</strong></p><p><strong> Wyoming Area 0</strong></p><p>The Royals won all five matchups in straight sets, including a pair of shutouts.</p><p><strong>Berwick 5, Pittston Area 0</strong></p><p>Luke Whitenight, Blake Whitmire and Giuseppe Baratta won in singles competition for the Dawgs.</p><p><strong>Wyo. Seminary 4, Hazleton Area 1</strong></p><p>Eamon Gibbons and Adrian Sung posted singles victories for the Blue Knights.</p><p>Adam Grual won at No. 2 singles for Hazleton Area&#8217;s only win.</p><p><strong>Dallas 4, Crestwood 1</strong></p><p>Frank Bevevino and Anthony DeLuca won in singles play and Dallas swept the doubles competition to post a victory.</p><p><strong>Berwick 5, Wyoming Valley West 0</strong></p><p>Luke Whitenight took No. 1 singles in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 as Berwick swept the Spartans on Monday.</p><p>Jake Demler and Roopesh Kumar won No. 1 doubles 6-1, 6-1.</p><p><strong>H.S. SOFTBALL</strong></p><p><strong>MMI 12, Marian Catholic 6</strong></p><p>Gabriella Kupsho led the Lady Preppers with three hits in the non-conference win. Desiree Dinko, Dana Carrato, Olivia Minzola and Madison Perchak added two hits a piece. Alyssa Famalette and Caelyn McGran each had a hit.</p><p><strong>Nanticoke 7, Holy Cross 2</strong></p><p>Cassie Novakowski hit a grand slam for the Trojans, while Leandre Ramos picked up the win in the exhibition game.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong>H.S.
