Let&#8217;s get back to basics! The memberships of the Pennsylvania House and Senate currently in office are almost identical to those in place when Gov. Tom Corbett successfully issued four budgets in a row &#8211; on time. It&#8217;s wrong to blame the legislators for a budget impasse when Gov. Tom Wolf entered the office telling his staff to be prepared for a long battle because he &#8220;was not going to compromise.&#8221;Gov. Wolf is an economic idiot. He doesn&#8217;t understand that raising taxes on payroll, sales and energy means only one thing: inflation! Ohio&#8217;s economy is expanding, as is New York&#8217;s, all because they are lowering taxes and making the business atmosphere more friendly. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania has some of the highest business costs in the country.When &#8220;Fast Eddie&#8221; Rendell gave all the schools that big part of the money that was supposed to fix roads, what did the schools do with it? Sports, sports and more sports! We now have boys&#8217; and girls&#8217; lacrosse, ice hockey and in one part of Luzerne County they have water polo. All this while one of our major school districts has dropped from 125th out of the state&#8217;s 500 school districts down to 435th.More money won&#8217;t solve this problem.Bob EvansWilkes-Barre
