<p>HARRISBURG &#8212; Attorney David Schwager has been appointed vice chair of The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.</p><p>Schwager of Kingston is a partner in the Wilkes-Barre law firm of Chariton, Schwager &amp; Malak and has been in practice for 27 years. He has been named a &#8220;Pennsylvania Super Lawyer&#8221; by Philadelphia Magazine every year since 2010. He is serving his second consecutive three-year term on the Disciplinary Board and also serves as treasurer of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.</p><p>&#8220;I am honored to serve as vice-chair of the Disciplinary Board. Serving on the Board has been a highlight of my legal career. As vice-chair, I will assist Chair Jane Penny in the overall administration and management of the Board and perform special duties as she may assign,&#8221; said Schwager. &#8220;I have enjoyed serving as chair of the Board&#8217;s Communications Committee for the past two years, and look forward to actively working with the new chair of the Communications Committee as well as the chairs of the other Board committees and all of the members of the Board in assuring the efficient handling of the Board&#8217;s business.&#8221;</p><p>The Disciplinary Board, an independent agency funded by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, consists of 13 members - 11 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across the state. It assists the Supreme Court in carrying out its exclusive jurisdiction over the licensing and discipline of attorneys in Pennsylvania. The members meet regularly to decide cases, policies and board administrative matters.</p><p>A past assistant district attorney for Luzerne County, Schwager is chair of the Kingston Borough Zoning Hearing Board, an assistant Luzerne County solicitor and has represented various municipal authorities and municipalities. He is a life fellow and a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He is a member of the boards of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Growth Partnership.</p><p>Schwager serves as chair of the board of trustees of Temple Israel of Wilkes-Barre, treasurer of Ecumenical Enterprises, Inc., and president of the B&#8217;nai B&#8217;rith Apartments Housing Foundation. He is a past president of the Jewish Community Center of Wyoming Valley, Temple Israel of Wilkes-Barre, the S.J. Strauss Lodge of B&#8217;nai B&#8217;rith and the Wyoming Seminary Alumni Association. He served as chair of the United Hebrew Institute School Board and the 2007 Jewish Federation campaign.</p><p>Schwager is a graduate of Lafayette College and The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University. He is admitted to practice law in all of the state courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.</p><style>
