There&#8217;s only one thing that will sort out the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltending situation.Time.After the Penguins wrapped up Wednesday&#8217;s practice at the Toyota Sportsplex, head coach Clark Donatelli ran through the scenarios that could influence who starts in net this weekend. As of Wednesday afternoon, Donatelli had Brian Foster, Casey DeSmith and Sean Maguire to choose from for his starters in each of the final three games of the season this weekend.But Donatelli was faced with plenty more questions.Will Tristan Jarry return from Pittsburgh? Jarry didn&#8217;t practice with the NHL club, fueling speculation that he may return to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.Will the outcome of the Providence game on Wednesday night dictate how much the three games mean this weekend?Where will the Penguins stand after Friday&#8217;s game against Lehigh Valley?If there isn&#8217;t much on the line for the rest of the weekend, can Maguire get his first AHL start?&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of scenarios that can happen,&#8221; Donatelli said. &#8220;If Jarry comes back, he&#8217;s our guy. If he doesn&#8217;t, we&#8217;ve got to figure it out.&#8221;Of the trio currently with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Foster has the most experience both career-wise and with the team this season. The 29-year-old is in his fifth pro season and he has appeared in nine games for the Penguins, posting a 3-3-1 record. Foster was in net and earned the win against Hershey as the Penguins clinched a playoff spot last weekend.DeSmith, 24, has made two starts for the Penguins this season after spending most of the year as a backup in Wheeling. The rookie netminder had a 2.55 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in 13 games with the Nailers.Maguire is another rookie option who joined the Penguins late last week after wrapping up his college career at Boston University. In 25 games this season with Boston University, Maguire had a 2.41 GAA and a .920 save percentage. He was Pittsburgh&#8217;s fourth round pick in 2012.Donatelli said he&#8217;d like to get Maguire a start over the weekend, but that may depend if clinching home ice remains a possibility.&#8220;But we just don&#8217;t know how things are going to turn out, if these games are going to mean something,&#8221; Donatelli said. &#8220;We don&#8217;t know who&#8217;s going to play two out of three or if they all play one game each.&#8221;NOTES- Results from D Reid McNeill&#8217;s MRI were encouraging, Donatelli said, and he may be able to return later if the Penguins make a long playoff run. McNeill was injured last Sunday after crashing into the boards.- Sahir Gill didn&#8217;t practice on Wednesday but is still making progress in his return from injury, Donatelli said.
