LEHMAN TWP &#8212; Sean Andres scored three unassisted goals and assisted on two others to help Tunkhannock defeat Lake-Lehman 9-7 Thursday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys lacrosse.Also scoring for Tunkhannock were Andrew Mills with two goals and Hunter Grow, Bradley Martin, Eric Bennett and Christian Scotti with one apiece.Charlie Kuschke, Luke Yaple, Owen Morgan and Austin Sobie all scored for Lake Lehman.H.S. Bailey Fedun registered four goals.Biana Mattei-Miller was responsible for both Pittston Area goals.BOYS VOLLEYBALLNorth Pocono 3, Crestwood 2Michael Williams made 35 assists, served 12 points and had 12 digs for the Comets in a difficult 25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 16-25, 16-14 defeat to North Pocono.Mendell Foreman made 16 kills for the Comets, Kyle Sanders added 13 kills and 12 Service Points and Jeremy Jones served 10 points and had 14 digs.Coughlin 3,Lake-Lehman 1The Crusaders pulled out the final two sets to win 25-13, 24-26, 27-25, 25-23 in a match played Wednesday. Jake Corey led Lehman&#8217;s effort with 13 kills and 14 blocks.Dallas 3, Tunkhannock 1The Mountaineers took the final two sets to down the Tigers by scores of 25-21, 13-25, 25-17, 25-21.Dallas&#8217; Danny Harpersberger tallied five kills. Joey Fiorello contributed on both sides of the court with nine digs and six aces. Steve Darling produced 24 assists and three blocks.For Tunkhannock, Hunter Prevost made three kills and four aces. Elliot Hammersley had 15 assists and three blocks.Berwick 3, Hazleton Area 1The Bulldogs prevailed after a nail-baiting second set loss to defeat the Cougars by scores of 25-11, 24-26, 25-15, 25-11.Berwick received help from Ethan Potter with 33 assists and 10 digs. Dylan Michael nearly had a double-double with nine kills and 15 digs. Morgan Phoryk provided four aces and 11 digs.BOYS TENNISMMI Prep 3, Wyoming Area 2Evan Spear won by default as the Preppers swept singles play to pull out victory.Jonathan Smith recorded a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the top singles match and Doug Genett won by the same score at No. 3 for MMI Prep.Alex Chronowski and Justin Alder took a 7-6, 6-4 victory in the top singles match for the Warriors.Holy Redeemer 4, Tunkhannock 1Josh Wychock pulled out a tough three-set victory in the top singles match and the Royals swept doubles play on their way to victory in a match played Wednesday. The Royals improved to 8-3 with the victory.COLLEGE SOFTBALLMisericordia splits twinbillCatlin Kennedy drove home the go-ahead run with a sixth-inning single as Misericordia pulled out a 5-4 victory in the opener to earn a split of a doubleheader. Lycoming won the nightcap 5-1.Kennedy and Lori Brennan both finished with two hits in the victory, while Cailey Ware was 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.Ware singled in the sixth inning of the second game to break up a no-hit bid.King&#8217;s splits doubleheaderThe Monarchs split a doubleheader by taking the first game of a twinbill 12-3 before dropping the second 10-5.In the opener, King&#8217;s totaled 16 hits, 10 extra-base knocks, and scored in all seven innings. Wyoming Valley West grad Kelcie Senchak was a home run shy of a cycle with four hits.
