<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre Area School District teacher that was <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/521529/wilkes-barre-area-suspends-another-teacher-with-pay-in-alcohol-incident" target="_blank">suspended with pay for violating contract policy regarding alcohol</a> is heading to higher court.</p><p>Court documents indicate that Christopher Gray, 31, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing for Tuesday, May 3. His court docket indicates that two DUI charges and a single careless driving charge were waived to higher court.</p><p>Gray allegedly drank alcohol before and/or during a state playoff basketball game March 9 in Pottsville. Gray went to the game, a PIAA playoff involving the Meyers High School boys team, on a chartered bus.</p><p>According to Wilkes-Barre police, he crashed his car shortly before 11 p.m. that night on Reliance Drive and was subsequently taken for a blood alcohol content test.</p><p>At the time of the incident involving Gray, the district was already dealing with five other teachers at GAR Memorial High School who have been suspended with pay as a result of an alcohol-related incident.</p><p>Gray teaches at Dodson Elementary and coaches girls basketball at Meyers.</p><p>Court documents indicate that Gray is scheduled for a formal arraignment for 9 a.m. on July 7 at the Luzerne County Courthouse. He is free on his own recognizance.</p><style>
