The following are recent Luzerne County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Regular inspection; in compliance.Willard Elementary School, 1100 Eynon St., Scranton, April 18. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Hot dogs were held at 119 degrees F to 125 degrees F in the electric hot-hold unit rather than 135 degrees F or above as required. Hot dogs were pulled from hot-hold unit and placed on range for rapid reheating.Trojan Diner, 135 N. Main St., Moscow, April 19. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food ingredient storage container, in the kitchen, is not labeled with the common name of the food. The container was labeled. A Styrofoam cup is being used as a scoop in the sugar bin. The cup was removed from the bin. Mashed potatoes 79 degrees F and tomato sauce 124 degrees F on the hot holding unit. The food was reheated to above 165 degrees F. Shall maintain hot food at 135 degrees F or above. Buildup of grease, old food residue and dust on the Pro-Max panini press on the prep table. The press was removed for cleaning. Food employee observed in kitchen, not wearing a proper hair restraint, such as a net, hat or beard cover. A hat was donned. Old food residue on the top and front of the Hamilton Beach microwave oven on the prep table. The microwave oven was cleaned. Screen door located in the kitchen of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents and other animals. The screen is coming off the frame of the door in the kitchen. The screen was stapled to the frame.Fuller&#8217;s Overlook Farm, Inc., MFF 1, Barnhill Rd., Waverly, April 19. Regular inspection; in compliance.North Pocono Intermediate School, 701 Church St., Moscow, April 19. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Ice buildup on the walls and lid in the Jack &amp; Jill reach-in ice cream freezer in the kitchen. Debris and webbing on the floor under the shelves in the store room. Debris on the floor in the utility room. Haphazard floor storage of boxes in the back room, district store room, impeding inspection and cleaning.Alpine Swirl, 1150 Main St., Peckville, April 20. Regular inspection; in compliance.Courtyard, Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, 16 Glenmaura National Blvd., Moosic, April 21. Opening inspection; out of compliance. Working containers in kitchen area, used for storing chemicals, cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. The person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Food employees observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets or hats. Dented canned items observed in storage area and intended for use in the food facility. Food contact surface of spatula is not smooth, easily cleanable and/or resistant to pitting, cracking or scratching. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Cup holder, a food contact surface, was observed to have mold-like residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Wire shelving in the walk-in cooler was observed to have old food and mold-like residue on it and was not clean to sight and touch. Fan guards in walk-in coolers have an accumulation of static dust. Clean dish racks observed stored on the floor in ware-wash area. Observed rust on walk-in cooler floor. Toilet room is not provided with a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins.Lackawanna County Coal Mine Concession, Bald Mountain Road, Scranton, April 21. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: The food facility does not maintain Food Employee Certification records as required. Person in charge states they intend to complete course in May.M and J&#8217;s, 542 Wildcat Rd., Olyphant, April 21. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food employee observed in kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. The French fry cutter, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The cutter was cleaned during this inspection.Royal Buffet, 821 Commerce Blvd., Dickson City, April 21. Follow-up inspection; in compliance.The Ice Cream Shoppe, 310 Main St., Blakely, April 21. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: A food employee was observed touching ice cream cones, a ready-to-eat food, with bare hands. Employee instructed to use napkins or gloves when handling ice cream cones during this inspection. Food dispensing utensils in sprinkles observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food and the container. The utensils were re-positioned during this inspection. Temperature measuring devices for ensuring proper temperatures of equipment are not available or readily accessible in the three reach-in refrigerators. Food employee observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraint, such as net, hat. The hand-wash sink located in the prep area did not have water at the beginning of the inspection. It was determined that the container was empty and was immediately re-filled during this inspection.Towne Place Suites, 26 Radcliffe Dr., Moosic, April 21. Opening inspection; in compliance. Violations: Non-food contact surfaces, juice dispenser, not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of soil. No sign or poster posted at the hand-wash sink in the prep area to remind food employees to wash their hands.Alfieri&#8217;s Family Restaurant, 488 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, April 21. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Observed a buildup of sugar syrup on the back of the soda dispensing machine. Observed heavy buildup of ice on the bottom of the two reach-in freezers. The interior ceiling of the microwave oven, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The microwave oven was cleaned during this inspection. Observed an accumulation of grease on the floor and walls behind the fryer and grill. Observed an accumulation of grease on the shelf above the grill.Springhill Suites, 19 Radcliffe Dr., Moosic, April 22. Opening inspection; in compliance. Violation: Spray bottle with liquid contents was not marked with the common name of the solution. Ware-wash sink has a hose attachment that is hanging below the flood rim of the sink and not an appropriate air gap.Terrace Garden Cafe, 829 Old State Rd., Clarks Summit, April 22, Regular inspection; in compliance.Nina&#8217;s, 310 Main St., Blakely, April 25. Regular inspection; out of compliance. Violation: Food facility preparing foods using reduced oxygen packaging without the required written procedures and HACCP plan.<style>
