Traffic stop leads to marijuana charges

<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; Police arrested Jeffrey Hawthorne, 30, and Unikqa Brown, 31, both of Bronx, New York, after they served a search warrant on a hotel room on Schechter Drive.</p><p>Police allege that during the search, they discovered that both Hawthorne and Brown were in possession of suspected marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine.</p><p>Police said that during the search, Hawthorne tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody near the Mohegan Sun Arena.</p><p>Upon transporting Hawthorne and Brown to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, officers allegedly found suspected crack cocaine on the back seat of one of the police cruisers.</p><p>When Brown was searched inside the prison, officials allegedly discovered that she had concealed over 31 grams of crack cocaine inside a body cavity.</p><p>Both Hawthorne and Brown are charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. Hawthorne is also charged with resisting arrest.</p><p>Police said that additional charges are pending against Brown.</p><style>
