KINGSTON - The Hoyt Library is looking for rising fifth and sixth graders, or those students who will be entering fifth or sixth grade next fall, to enter &#8220;A Book That Shaped Me&#8221; summer writing contest now through Monday, July 18.The contest is administered by The Library of Congress National Book Festival and is part of the Hoyt Library&#8217;s Summer Reading Program and other public library&#8217;s in the Mid-Atlantic systems.Students can enter by writing a short essay on a book that has had a personal impact on their life. Essays must be submitted in-person to the Hoyt Library. Entry forms and participation guidelines are available at the library.The contest will award prizes to thirty state finalists, six state winners and three overall grand prize winners. The top winners will be honored at the Library of Congress National Book Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.For additional information, call the library at 570-287-2013.
