PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Temple University has removed its provost amid a $22 million shortfall in financial aid. The college in Philadelphia announced on Tuesday that Hai-Lung Dai was relieved of his administrative responsibilities. It's not clear if the removal was tied to Temple having promised more in financial aid than was budgeted. The university said only that Dai's removal was a personnel issue. Temple said all aid promised to students would be honored and the school has adjusted its budget to offset the shortfall.
