<p>U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey ran his first negative ad about his Democratic opponent, Katie McGinty, on the very day following the primary election. A few days later, McGinty ran her first negative ad about Toomey.</p><p>Since then, we have been deluged with negative ads by both of them on a daily basis. Obviously, both candidates have money to burn in their campaign chests. Unfortunately, the exorbitant amount of cash being wasted on these negative political ads could be put to better use that would be beneficial to society in general.</p><p>If things stay the same until November&#8217;s general election, I can&#8217;t imagine anyone wanting to vote for either Katie McGinty or Pat Toomey. Perhaps that is their goal: Keep the voters, especially the independents, away from the polls.</p><p>Enough is enough! Shame on both of them!</p><p><strong>David L.
