Letter to the Editor: See area’s homeless men and women in a new light

<p>Don&#8217;t fret because Hillary Clinton had to postpone her July 8 visit to Scranton. There will be other opportunities for her to tell you what you want to hear.</p><p>Clinton&#8217;s campaign said she planned to talk about how she&#8217;ll make the largest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II. Can we believe her? Can we believe anything Hillary Rodham Clinton says?</p><p>Clinton planned to say during her local visit that she&#8217;ll strengthen manufacturing jobs in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. She recently said, &#8220;I told my husband he&#8217;s going to come out of retirement&#8221; to be in charge of restoring &#8220;manufacturing in states that suffered huge coal job losses.&#8221;</p><p>Wait a minute. Didn&#8217;t she say in March that, &#8220;We&#8217;re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business&#8221;? Wonder what she&#8217;ll say when she reschedules her visit to our little neck of the woods, coal country.</p><p>Clinton also said she never emailed classified material while serving as secretary of state, but none other than FBI Director James Comey said she did. Comey also said Clinton and her staff were &#8220;extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.&#8221;</p><p>Do we really want this woman to possess the nation&#8217;s nuclear codes?</p><p>Clinton also planned to tell her Scranton audience that she will fix a &#8220;political system that works for the wealthy&#8221; while doing little for &#8220;working Pennsylvanians.&#8221; Now that&#8217;s funny. The money-hungry Bill and Hillary Clinton have benefited nicely from such a system. </p><p>Clinton also, according to advance talking points about her visit, was going to announce that she&#8217;ll &#8220;re-write the rules to stop Wall Street risking the economy for Main Street.&#8221; Like the rules she rewrote for using a personal server for sending and receiving what FBI Director Comey said were &#8220;top secret/special access program&#8221; materials? Will we ever know whether any of our dangerous enemies viewed them?</p><p>Hillary&#8217;s supporters fervently deny she&#8217;s a liar. What more proof do they need, especially now that Comey announced she didn&#8217;t even tell the truth about the number of mobile devices she used for receiving and sending emails? And she looked the American people in the eye and lied to them, saying that a video triggered the massacre in Benghazi, when she told her daughter it actually was a terrorist attack. If she can lie to a grieving mother whose son was killed there, this woman will lie to anyone.</p><p>Then again, both Clintons have stood front and center, and lied to the nation. Bill Clinton famously wagged his finger on national television and said, &#8220;I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.&#8221;</p><p>Can a conniving charmer really make the public forget what a consummate cad he is, or that his wife sought to smear his bevy of other women? Can anyone even think of a more scandal-ridden, opportunistic political couple than Bill and Hillary Clinton?</p><p>The country does not need four more years of them. Who wants to go backward when now more than ever we need new blood to tackle the nation&#8217;s $19 trillion debt, and to keep us safe from barbaric Islamic terrorists?</p><p>Is Hillary Clinton qualified to be president? Yes. Will she work tirelessly if she gets the job? Yes. Is she worthy of the position? Absolutely not.</p><p>It&#8217;s important to note that the Clintons are beholden to anyone and everyone who backs their insatiable political ambitions and their family foundation, or who pays them $250,000 to $500,000 for a speech, not for what they necessarily have to say, but for what favors they can return.</p><p>It&#8217;s a vicious cycle of inner-circle players exploiting the rest of us, and it needs to stop.</p><p>The country&#8217;s apparent disdain for the status quo propelled socialist Bernie Sanders and wild card Donald Trump into the high-stakes presidential race.</p><p>It&#8217;s obvious the public is demanding change. Hillary Rodham Clinton is not it.</p><style>
