Showers, thunderstorms possible in the Wyoming Valley through tonight

<p>On July 9, after a heartfelt goodbye and a gracious funeral service at the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston, we said our final good-bye to Daniel &#8220;Danny&#8221; Rebovich.</p><p>The Rebovich family presented us with an excellent look into the remarkable character and goodness of Danny &#8211; a caring, gentle, loving father and brother, a lover of the outdoors and all adventures, a hard worker and good provider.</p><p>I met Danny in the early 1970s when he came into my business asking for a summer job, at age 15, yet rigid in his ingenuity as a man of a much more seasoned determination. After I left Pennsylvania for other endeavors, I kept hearing of Danny&#8217;s determination to do good, which did not surprise me. He was a family leader, a great uncle to his nieces and nephews, a friend to friends in need, and someone who was there to help in any way he could.</p><p>Well after the family, the minister, and numerous friends and acquaintances departed from the cemetery, and I was about to leave, his sister, Barbara, stopped by to put some finishing touches on Danny&#8217;s grave. Barbara told me how Danny, for all the years since I had known him as a teenager, continued to be a decent worker and the guy who always was there to lend a hand to family and friends in need.</p><p>There will be no news or TV coverage of Danny&#8217;s passing, except for the newspaper obituary (a good description of this fine gentleman). I felt compelled to tell the rest of the world that a fine guy and friend to all will be at the table of the righteous and just in heaven.</p><p>God bless you, Danny Rebovich.
