<p>HANOVER TWP. &#8212; Two Hanover township grandparents were scammed out of $2,500 on Friday when they received a phone call from a male pretending to be their grandson involved in a car accident out of state, according to police.</p><p>Police said the couple received a phone call from the male pretending to be their grandson and another male who said he was their grandson&#8217;s attorney.</p><p>One of the grandparents purchased $2,500 in itunes gift cards and gave the caller the security number off the back.</p><p>They later made contact with their son to inquire as whether their grandson was okay, and learned that they had been scammed.</p><p>Hanover police are asking any resident contacted by someone asking for money or giftcards to call the police at 570-825-1254.</p><style>
