<p>Chad Green has a very good argument to make when it comes to the International League postseason award for top pitcher.</p><p>The 25-year-old leads the league with a 1.52 ERA and is ranked among the top in strikeouts (100), wins (7), hits allowed per nine innings (6.5), opponents batting average (.200), WHIP (0.94) and home runs allowed (3) in 94 2/3 innings.</p><p>But when the right-hander has had a chance to show what he has in New York with the Yankees, he hasn&#8217;t been as impressive. In fact, he&#8217;s given up eight homers in just 27 1/3 innings pitched, while producing an ERA close to 5.00, and Major League hitters are batting .280 against him.</p><p>&#8220;It was all mechanical I think. This past week, the last start I&#8217;ve been working on mechanics just trying to get straight forward to home plate,&#8221; Green said. &#8220;My fastball command was terrible up there. Just getting that fixed I think that&#8217;s gonna solve lot of problems. I haven&#8217;t been able to command anything up there. And I pitch off my fastball, everybody knows that. I think if I can fix that, I can fix a lot of problems too.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Moore&#8217;s local connection</strong></p><p>Lehigh Valley catcher Logan Moore made a return to Moosic for the second time in his career last week.</p><p>Moore is the son of former Red Barons pitcher Brad Moore, who pitched for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 1989 and 1990. While Brad was playing in Moosic, Logan was born leading to his biographical information of being born in Scranton.</p><p>Brad Moore had career numbers of a 9-17 record with five saves for the Red Barons, appearing in 96 games, including 13 starts. He also pitched in eight games for the Phillies, posting a 1.08 ERA in the 1988 and 1990 seasons.</p><p>Logan has played in four games on the field where his dad once pitched totaling three hits in 15 at bats, including a 1 for 4 performance last week.</p><p><strong>Who likes Ike?</strong></p><p>As part of nearly a dozen transactions made by the RailRiders last week, veteran first baseman Ike Davis was released.</p><p>Davis, who was signed by the Yankees in June as a reinforcement for their revolving door at first base, played just 26 games for the RailRiders, but hit just .217, while clubbing five homers. The former Mets prospect saw action in only eight games for New York going 3 for 14.</p><p>Earlier this season, he played in the Pacific Coast League for Round Rock itting .268 with four homers in 39 games.</p><p><strong>Did you know</strong></p><p>The RailRiders&#8217; 11-game home winning streak ended last week at the hands of rival Lehigh Valley. The 11 consecutive wins tied the 2006 Red Barons for longest in franchise history. The RailRiders streak ended on Aug. 11. In 2006, the Barons&#8217; streak concluded on Aug. 10. Those Barons ended with a 47-24 mark at home. The RailRiders already have 36 wins at PNC Field with 14 games remaining.</p><p>Clint Frazier, who was acquired by the Yankees at the trade deadline from the Indians, has been nicknamed Red Thunder due to his long red hair, which has since been cut due to Yankees team rules.</p><p>The RailRiders have already set a team record for shutouts in a season with 20. Catcher Kyle Higashioka, who has only caught 19 games for SWB, has been behind the plate for seven of those shutouts. The team has a 14-5 record when he&#8217;s caught.</p><style>
