Court documents: Maine man died fighting for Islamic State

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A city man is facing charges after officers found him in possession of alleged drug paraphernalia Sunday morning on Park Avenue.</p><p>Police said that at 10:58 a.m., officers on patrol in the area saw Thomas Hayward Jr., 33, sitting on a lawn of a residence not occupied by him.</p><p>The officers approached Hayward, at which time he gave them permission to search his person, according to police. Officers then found Hayward in possession of hypodermic needles and empty baggies used to store heroin, police said.</p><style>
