<p>LEHMAN TWP. &#8212; A brush fire on Metropolitan Avenue on Wednesday destroyed a shed and caused significant damage to an adjacent residence.</p><p>About a dozen firefighters from Sweet Valley, Harveys Lake, Jackson Township, Lehman Township and Ide Town fire departments responded to the fire which was called in at about 2 p.m.</p><p>According to Lake Silkworth Fire Chief Jerry Walker, no one was injured in the fire.</p><p>Walker said the first priority of fire personnel on scene was to ensure that the fire did not spread to any other structures and that no residents were endangered.</p><p>He said it had been &#8220;knocked down,&#8221; aggressively from several directions</p><p>As of 3:30 p.m., Walker said the fire had been almost entirely contained, with remaining &#8220;hot spots&#8221; being doused with water.</p><p>Although &#8220;brush fire season&#8221; is over, Walker said brush fires can be started during any season and encouraged residents to remain vigilant in regard to fire safety.</p><style>
